NetThreat is a verticle slice demo I created independently in 2 weeks for an FIEA application.
You play as a netrunner, a hacker embodied in the metaverse as an avatar.

Fire, a long range single target ability.

Shock, an AOE CC that stuns.

Ice, an AOE damaging ability with a recast that explodes all summoned pillars.
The main gamplay revolves around navigating levels with the help of your hacks Fire, Shock, and Ice. Each can be upgraded and allow for you to battle or escape the different defences.

The first level focuses on advancing through areas based on the player's learning mechanics. The second level allows the player to then engage with upgrading the abilities.

Access points in the level give money when interacted with by the player.

The color of the floor indicates location in the maze.
Moving materials and meshes keep the levels dynamic without being too distracting. Contrasting with enemies and objectives to help guide the player.

The UI is simple. Health bar elements for the player and enemies, tutorial hints, an upgrade menu for skills and a simple pair of floating arms to represent the player.
This gameplay footage showcases the final build of the verticle slice demo.
